Garden Route Glamour

We did this glamorous wedding with Weddings by Marius from Knysna.
For more of his latest work, visit the GALLERY at www.weddingsbymarius.co.za/gallery

Marius (2nd to the left) helping the beautiful bride from the car.

We had the wooden knives and forks printed with the couple's names.

The seating cards were hanging from chandeliers - something different!

The simple but stylish, Order of Service printed in honeysuckle pink ink with calligraphy writing.

The tables names in stead of numbers were lasercut and was a lovely feature on the festive tables.

Beautiful mom and daughter!

Trifold menus added another detail to the tables, again with the chandelier artwork - this was part of the theme of the wedding.

The bridal couple's monogramme lasercut from clear perspex, featured as a cake topper.

Festive tables, pretty in pink.

Trendy leopard print shoes, oh la la!

The couple's first ride.

Origami paper jets were used in stead of confetti.

The Bride with her gorgeous bridesmaids.

I asked Marius to tell us a bit more about this special celebration...

Choosing the wedding venue required absolutely no thought whatsoever – Marti’s parents have a holiday home on the canals of St. Francis and it represents everything that Wesley and Marti-Nette value in life – love, laughter, friends & family.

For the ceremony the gazebo had been decorated with balls of hanging roses and chrysanthemums in varying sizes. The isle was lined with six plinths topped with low square mirror containers supporting a lattice onto which white balloons were tied and later released in celebration of the first kiss as Mr & Mrs Bloxham. An order of service was also tied to every second chair.

During pre-dinner drinks the Jazz Trio set the mood, a modern Great Gatsby type of vibe – Bedouin tent on rolling lawns, white bars and flaring barmen served delectable cocktails, waiters immaculate in white gloves brought out tray after tray of Sushi and Bowl foods while the caricature artist did drawings of the guests – it was fun, it was perfect.

At the reception we had square tables all decorated differently, each named after somewhere we had visited – Cancun, Paris, Gran Canaria and the like. The tables had been dressed in white tablecloths with gunmetal grey organza overlays. Silver and glass containers combined beautifully with silver candlesticks and white candles, all gently lit with LED. The blend of pinks and off whites was magnificent, flowering orchids, cut orchids, roses and St Joseph lilies, the variation of glass, mirror and silver, crystal chandeliers and Chinese lanterns and mirror balls, a gorgeous fusion of contemporary and vintage. The menu had been printed onto white napkins; the idea had been for guests to take them home as additional gifts.

The entire evening was totally relaxed with no real formalities, only beautiful people celebrating the extraordinary journey of Marti and Wesley’s love, and their lives together, to the sounds of the live background band – a modern, memorable, magical evening.

The Colour of the Year: HONEYMOON!

Honey Moon is Color Marketing Group’s “Next Color” for the coming year. This mustard gold is the grounded hue of optimism. Frivolous is out. Upbeat and realistic is in. Inspirations come from hardworking honeybees, a move away from glitzier golds, toward a remembrance of things past. Honey Moon is patinated and reminiscent of warm, worn leather. Honey Moon offers a fresh face on yellow and blends the sensual stimulations of color and taste. Take the sweet earthiness of honey and combine it with the romance of a harvest moon to
uncover this blended yellow.
Although Honey Moon will be predominant, we can see it playing out in combination with the
colors of fantasy brights, whites, and comforting, subdued hues. From interior home to exterior accents, from tabletop to fashion flourishes, Honey Moon has just begun.
