Merry Christmas!!!

At Elsje Designs, Christmas is also a time for giving back to the community of Kayalitsha. Beginning of December we were priviledged to be part of a Christmas party which was celebrated at St Michaels Primary School in Harare. It was attended by 400 children from St Michaels Primary, Sophumelela Pre-School, Illitha and orphaned children of the Simameleni Child Abuse program. It was a life changing experience to hand out cool drinks to keep the children energized for the the jumping castle, face painting, hockey, hoola hoops, skipping and just to be able to spend the day with Father Christmas. It was arranged by one of Elsje’s friends, Ellen Odendaal. Our main aim was to spread the festive cheer and goodwill to those who are less fortunate.

Annemie's Surprise Birthday Party

For Annemie's surprise birthday party we chose a navy and red theme! We had breakfast together in Elsje Designs's newly landscaped garden and celebrated Annemie's last birthday as a unmarried woman! Hope you had a super fun day Annemie!

"1001 Reasons to Love Christmas" - Woolworths Campaign

We are very excited about having participated with highly talented stylist, Tina-Marie Malherbe from Visi Magazine (Pica Winner 2008), in the Woolworths “1001 reasons to love Christmas” 2008 festive season campaign. Geo Parkes & Sons from Knysna supplied us with the most gorgeous yellow wood, from which we cut NOEL decorative lettering, which is featured in the photograph below. This campaign is a true reflection of what it means to celebrate a traditional hearty Christmas in South Africa!
